facilities
The Cottage Studio is a new, self-contained 2-storey building to the front of the site incorporating a unique contemporary design, and flooded with natural light.

The lower floor houses an open-plan lounge area with kitchen and breakfast bar leading on to the glazed garden room having dual access to the private yard. The upper floor offers a bright open-plan studio area having south-facing floor to ceiling glazing, with doors to a balcony. There is also a bathroom and separate private room.
The Barn Studio is situated on the upper floor of an italianate brick and flint building to the rear of the private yard. The space is light and airy, with south-facing Velux skylights
Facilities here include several high-end digital workstations, 5:1 sound digital projection and screen, A0 drawing board, meeting area, soft area and reference library. Seating can be arranged to accommodate up to between 15 and 20 people, facilitating presentations, workshops, or a boutique cinema.
The Makers' Space is situated on the ground floor of the barn building, intended for creative workshop and studio use.
Space is arranged into three separate work zones, interconnected by sliding doors. There is ample power to all areas, with a choice of either overhead florescent, or led spots, allowing all spaces to be reconfigured for display of works in gallery format.

Currently undergoing improvement works, upgrading of floors, ceilings and wiring and lighting has already been completed.
Institute House is the original house of the complex, dating from 1782, and fronting on to the main road through the village. Being self-contained, it's function is mainly that of accommodation for both residents and guests, with bedrooms upstairs and reception rooms to the ground floor.
There are rooms to the front providing space to relax, with the Blue Room as a small library and reading area, and the Red Room providing a private space for audio/visual material. Side doors give access to the private yard, and rear doors to the private patio and gardens.
Meetings
Meetings and presentations can be accommodated comfortably in the Barn Studio, with digital projection, a retractable screen, 5:1 surround sound, desk space, and fast connectivity.
The Barn Studio is also suitable for holding seminars or presentations to groups of up to 20 people.

Should more intimate space be required, this can also be accommodated in rooms situated either in the Cottage Studio, or within Institute House, subject to availability.
Awaydays and workshops are well catered for by the individual spaces available within the complex for breakout sessions, being separate from each other, while arranged in proximity around the private courtyard.
The lovely south-facing gardens at The Loom provide a lush and welcome retreat from the studio environment. Sit and work or just relax in any of the discreet, shaded areas dotted around: under the vines of the pergola, on the patio, the courtyard nook, or under the canopy of trees at the back. Just the ticket for thoughtful time out and creative inspiration.
Staying
While the unique environment at The Loom provides the opportunity for creative working within the studio spaces available for hire, it also caters for those who wish to get away for a few days, pitch up in a stimulating environment and do some creative thinking or creative work.

There are rooms available to stay over, both in Institute House itself, or in the new Cottage Studio. The latter is self-contained, with it's own facilities and access, and so affords a degree of independence and privacy. The main house has private rooms with shared facilities.
Although self-catering facilities are available in both the main house and studio, there is always the option of trying the award-winning bar and restaurant right next door, which is open from Wednesday to Sunday, or the lively village pub just across the meadow, where a tankard or two of fine ale will satisfyingly wash down one of their home-made toasties.
